Irene is BACK with ERT!
We are so lucky to have Irene back in the ERT team!
Irene has had a long career with a background in information technology and project delivery.
She started her career as an ICT graduate in private industry, delivering projects in Australia and overseas, before moving into executive level roles in government in Canberra. Her strengths include strategic investment planning, leading teams, and working with different stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
Since The Easy Read Toolbox began, Irene has supported Karen and the team through pro bono work—helping with business planning, writing grant applications, and contributing content to our famous image packs.
Irene is passionate about inclusion, especially improving communication for people with disability, and draws on her personal experience as a carer and knowledge to guide her work.
Irene believes in creating spaces where everyone feels welcome. She values empathy, teamwork, and clear communication, and is enthusiastic about continuing to learn about inclusive design and new technologies like AI and assistive tools to help improve accessibility.
